Sour cherry, marshmallow root, currant, licorice, buttered toast, candy apple, baking spices, minerals, with subtle stewed blackberry. Fresh, balanced tannins. Beautifully perfumed. Great wine. 92 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)

Another safe bet for this release. Pirramimma Grenache or their Shiraz or Petite Verdot (my personal favorite) are just a great use of wine-$

Natalie's Review

Pirramimma Old Bush Vine Grenache 2006, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: Vintages Wine Panel: This premium Grenache is sourced from two venerable vineyards, one planted in 1944 and the other in 1968. The fruit was hand-picked and the wine spent 3 years in American oak barriques before release. Look for classic Australian Grenache notes of sunny red fruit and roses, along with intriguing accents of mocha, toffee and allspice. My note: Luscious and ripe with big black plums looking to pick a fight with anyone wimpy. Honkin’ big flavours but also plush and long. Yum! Drink: 2007-2013. 108068 14.50% D 750 mL  $25.95 Score: 90/100. June 11, 2011  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
