Almost water-white, with only a hint of straw.

Slight spritz on the palate, a refreshing summer sipper at a lower alcohol level. Lemon, Granny Smith apple

Tasting this wine brought back fond memories for me. For my 50th birthday eight years ago my husband and I made a trip to Portugal. I brought back a bottle of the Vinho Verde and had more or less forgotten about it. Surprisingly it was still very fresh and crisp. In eight years this bottle had deepened in hue and was not as pale as a young Vinho Verde. There were aromas of lemon and lime and it had still maintained it's effervescent fizz. Tart green apple flavours were still quite evident. If I closed my eyes and sipped slowly I could picture myself back on a white sandy beach in the Algarve. Tasted November 27, 2016.
