Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Absolutely no rough edges on this easy-going Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Frontenac Noir red wine blend from Monte Creek Winery. Living Lands Series Hands Up Red 2022 is a dusty, medium ruby red in the glass and fragrant with fresh, ripe red cherry, crunchy red currant, ripe raspberry and dark berry aromas. Dry, medium-bodied, savoury and smooth on the palate with dark cherry, red currant, blackberry, caramel, soft tannins and nicely balanced acidity, like a good friend, it is easy to understand and in good company. A lighter style red wine with good length on the finish, lightly chill it to bring out all those fruity aromas and flavours and have a glass or two by the lake, or enjoy it with family and friends over burgers and ribs from the grill. Very nicely done, this vintage was awarded Gold at the 2024 All Canadian Wine Awards. Tasted June 2025.

The wine spent nine months in French oak foudres with a portion of the wine aged in French oak barriques. “The 2022 harvest at Monte Creek Winery officially started on September 6th and finished on October 22, only a day before the first hard frost. The team processed 290 tons of grapes.”

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
