Gérard Bertrand Orange Gold 2023, Languedoc Roussillon, France: Gerard Bertrand Orange Gold 2023 is an orange wine produced from organically grown Chardonnay, White Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Mauzac, Muscat, Clairette grapes and was vinified without destemming or crushing the grapes but with extensive grape skin contact. Grapes are semi carbonic macerated, then pressed into stainless-steel tanks with completed maceration in barrels. The 2023 vintage is dry, medium-bodied, rich and concentrated with preserved apricot, peach, citrus curd, dried fine herb and nutty flavours with a pleasant and refreshing bite on the finish, an indication of extended grape skin and stem contact during wine fermentation. Chill and enjoy it through 2026 with herbed quiches or lemon-herbed rubbed chicken breasts from the grill. Drink: 2025-2028. 23729 13% XD 750 mL $24.95 Score: 90/100.
