Kew Soldier's Grant 2020, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The 2020 Kew Soldier’s Grant is a dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend, primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon with 12% Cabernet Franc. Crafted in the Appassimento method, some of the grapes are dried before fermentation, lending richness and depth to the wine. The palate is full of dark cherry, blackberry, clove, and peppery spice, with subtle tobacco and herbal notes, all rounded by smooth tannins and a lengthy finish. This wine was matured in a mix of French and American oak barrels, enhancing its complexity. Pair it with pork, grilled steak, or veal roast stuffed with apricots and wild mushrooms.
