Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Township 7 Vineyards and Winery, Seven Stars 2019 Aurora is so named for the Goddess of Dawn, Aurora, who ancient Romans believed brought light to the heavens and earth and whose tears created the sparkling morning dew.

Indeed, this Méthode Champenoise sparkler was made for a Goddess! Dry, medium-bodied, and so elegant with a creamy, full-flavoured, fine and persistent perlage of soft citrus, orange blossom, honeyed red berries and minerally notes all wrapped up in bright acidity and a long Meyer lemon zesty finish.

Aurora 2019 is Blanc de Noir produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Stoneridge Vineyard, a single vineyard facing southwest on the hillside overlooking the meandering Okanagan River by Vaseaux Lake, and a perfect terroir for grapes to be made into sparkling wine. Although the summer heat in the south Okanagan is intense, the vineyard is tempered by the coolness of its high elevation and proximity to the river. The Pinot Noir vines grow in gravel, clay and sandy loam soils that provide good drainage and the Pinot Noir (15 Pinot Noir, Pommard Burgundy) is low yielding at two tonnes per acre. The wine was left en tirage for 30 months to develop its classic autolytic characters and after riddling, the wine was disgorged, with a small amount of the winery’s proprietary dosage added for complexity and depth of flavour. Tasted October 2023.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
