Ghislain Lalonde rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

FBS, DL92(5), NM95,90% sangiovese, aged two years in 55hl Slavonian oak casks and a small part in French barriques. The nose is quite deep and powerful, ripe within the sangiovese spectrum with the spice of cannaiolo alongside ripe-tart red berry fruit, dried herbs, old wood. Tannins are very fine and light, refined, while acids are comfortable and nicely balanced, especially for the challenging (hot) 2017 vintage. Length and depth are excellent. This is drinking very well at the moment though be sure to carafe, but there's no rush either - hold into the early '30s. Solid vintage. 14.5% alc. Tasted February 2022.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautiful! Aromas of dried cherry, cedar, sandalwood, tobacco, pepper, and sweet smoke. Medium bodied, with vibrant acidity, and dry, gripping tannins on the palate. Fruit notes are rounded and bright with a slight tartness, along with notes of cedar and smoke on a lengthy finish. Pair with pan seared duck.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Lots of complexity in the glass here with layers of licorice, sandalwood and eucalyptus on the nose. The palate is smooth and nicely balanced. Subtle, savoury dried cherry dominates the palate with finely texured tannins on the finish. All very harmonious and enjoyable. Pair with Osso Buco or veal parmigiana. Natalie's Review

Carpineto Riserva Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2017, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: Carpineto Riserva 2017 Nobile Di Montepulciano is produced from mostly Sangiovese with some Canaiolo. Most of the wine was aged in Slavonian oak casks for two years with a portion in French oak barrels. Fragrant with bright cherry and baking spice aromas, the wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied and vibrant with ripe, tart red berry and cherry, dried herbs, pepper and well-integrated oak spice. Tannins are fine-grained and rounded. Decant for two hours if having tonight, but can easily cellar to 2030. Drink: 2023-2033. 368910 13% XD 750 mL  $34.95 Score: 95/100.
