Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Heras Cordon Vendimia Seleccionada 2018, from the Rioja Valley in Spain, is once again showing quality and taste typically seen in more expensive Spanish wines. It shows aromas of dried blueberry, sour cherry, fig, dried rose, volcanic rock, cinnamon, cigar box and cocoa. A blend of Blended 80% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo and 10% Graciano exposes a full body, dry tannins and lovely acidity. The finish is well structured with great lenght. Palate: dark cherry, dried blackberry, dried leaves, cinnamon, tobacco, vanilla and cedar. Enjoy!

Natalie's Review

Heras Cordón Vendimia Seleccionada Crianza 2018, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: Heras Cordón Crianza 2018 is a vegan-friendly red wine blend of mostly Tempranillo with 10% each of Graciano and Mazuelo sourced from vines 25 to 40 years of age from the Elciego, Fuenmayor, Laguardia and Lapuebla vineyards in the Rioja Alta and Alavesa. The wine is dry, juicy and concentrated with dark berry, mocha, spicy and savoury flavours on the palate wrapped up in fine-grained tannins. Drink or hold. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
