Medium purple in colour with aromas of black cherry, plum and black pepper. It is medium bodied, has well balanced acidity & tannins with flavours of juicy cherry, plum and black pepper spice. This will be pair well with grilled red meats or with a meat lovers pizza. Tasted on January 18, 2022.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Such a great price point! This is a blend of Gamay Noir and Merlot, and I think the balance is great. Aromas of plum and cherry along with hints of black pepper and a hint of mocha. Medium bodied, smooth, with some bright acidity, vibrant, fresh dark fruit on the palate, and a peppery finish. Perfect to enjoy with any BBQ burgers or sausages.
David Skinner rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark Ruby colour and a purple rim. Plenty of black fruit on the nose with dark cherry, blackberry and some cassis notes. Balanced light tannin and medium acidity. The palate reveals more dark fruit. Juicy and ripe cherries and plums. A medium fruit-driven finish.

I served this with Portobello mushrooms stuffed with sundried tomato pesto and pecorino.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine is from the standout Niagara 2020 vintage, which benefited from the near perfect growing conditions for all grapes. A deep ruby coloured wine, dry, medium bodied, with balanced tannins and food friendly acidity, with pronounced aroma of juicy dark cherries and cassis, vanilla and sweet spice. The fruity , juicy aromas of cherries and cassis continue to the palate along with sweet spice. This wine paired well with the smoky sweet notes of roasted red pepper, brie, pear, caramelized onion and mushroom pizza.
Janet Holden rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This medium bodied, dry red wine has aromas of cherries, dark fruits, cassis, baking spices, violet and a hint of forest floor and black pepper. The tannins are well balanced and the finish is quite fruity. This wine pairs well with a crispy wood oven pizza.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Good Natured and good value go hand in hand here! You would do well to keep a case on hand for your everyday dining - including Sunday night dinner.

This VQA blend of Merlot and Gamay was the perfect pairing for my Sunday roast beef meal. Aromas of black cherry, black currant and cloves with more dark fruit on the palate. Medium body with tannins that were smooth and supple. The addition of the Gamay Noir adds some acidity to balance the fruit driven Merlot.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An aromatic blend of Gamay and Merlot from Ontario’s Good Natured Winery - overseen by Peller Estates. Cherry, blackberry and subtle nuances of plum and spice that carry into the flavours alongside ripe raspberry and blueberry. Light and lively with mouthwatering acidity, silken tannins and a lip-smacking juicy finish. This would be a great pairing to serve slightly chilled alongside grilled Ontario rainbow trout and herbed greens.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

What a nice surprise! Very enjoyable Gamay/Merlot blend at a very affordable price point. Nice aromatic expression of small black fruit, plum and sour cherry. Some soft tannins and enough acidity to create a well balanced wine. Mild spice notes on the finish. Paired with a vegan meatball sub- went wonderfully!
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Good Natured 2020 is an everyday wine made by Andrew Peller. A blend of Merlot and Gamay offers aromas sour cherry, red currant, rhubarb, cocoa, and spice. The wine shows a medium body, polished tannin and supple acidity, with a dry and fruity finish - perfect for any occasion. Palate: tart cherry, tart plum, dried herbs, leather, spice and cedar. Enjoy.
Craig Haynes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This red blend‘s youthful red fruit aromas - especially cherries and currants – ushered in vibrant and juicy dark berry flavours on a medium bodied palate with supple tannins, light touch acidity and sweetness. Ready to be enjoyed so chill, uncork and pour.

I love a Gamay - sometimes seen as the underratedcousin of Pinot Noir. Ontario makes some of the best Gamay around the world, and this particular marriage with Merlot doesn’t disappoint.
Aromas of dark red plum and baking spice fill the glass, and transform into a lively cherry finish.
Perfectly paired with charcuterie boards or sausage pasta dishes.
Tasted April 2021.
