Deborah Podurgiel rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

If I had to choose between Roche Winery’s Texture 2020 Pinot Gris and their 2018 Pinot Gris, I don’t think I could. As much as the former is opulent on the nose and teasing on the palate, the latter is the other way around. Pale Gold in the glass with fresh pear, citrus zest and white pepper spice on the nose, dry, medium-bodied with medium-plus acidity, luxurious and mouth-coating on the palate with ripe pear, lemongrass, fennel, lemon sorbet, baked pastry, pepper spice and stony mineral flavours finishing long and bright on the palate. We chilled and poured it with grilled chicken breasts and sauteed Peruvian scallops (mild flavoured scallops) but would also be a perfect pairing to a grilled fennel and citrus salad. An easy to enjoy Pinot Gris with amazing acidity.

The 2018 PG was produced by Penelope and Dylan Roche from organically farmed grapes from the Kozier Organic Vineyard. Fermented in neutral French barrels the wine developed on its fine lees for one year with occasional lees stirring. Tasted May 2021. #30DaysofVQA

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
