Not often can one find a Petit Verdot as a single varietal. Pirramimma has offered an opportunity to try this full bodied, deep and concentrated wine. The palate is full of blackcurrant jam, vanilla, mint and a slight hint of smoked tobacco leaves. The meal should match the wine, best to pair with smoked brisket, BBQ ribs or a juicy rib eye. Enjoy now or cellar for the next 3 to 5 years.

A full-bodied McLaren Vale, Australia Petit Verdot is a wine that has consistently delivered vintage after vintage. Dark cherry and black currents, mint and vanilla aromas, this is jammy and spicy on the palate. This is personally a family favourite with barbequed lamb loin chops. Dijon mustard in the sauce adds an interesting contrast to the wine's own flavours.

If Petit Verdot is used in small doses to add interest then this 100% Petit Verdot promises to be very interesting! Interesting dusty, chalky, vegetal aromas lead on the nose. Pirramimma Petit Verdot 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: Pirramimma first released this Petit Verdot in 1994 following 11 years of experimentation. Petit Verdot is rarely bottled alone, usually employed in a blend to give colour and perfume, but Pirramimma decided to make this full-bodied, deep, dark purple-red from the Petit Verdot wine grape one of its signature wines. Look for dark berry and plum compote, smoky vanilla and savoury herb flavours on this toothsome red. Enjoy now and for the next five years.
