L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep dark ruby coloured wine with purple hue, dry, smooth tannins and balanced acidity. Pronounced aromas of spice, vanilla, blackberry, black cherry and plums with a hint of pot pourri evolve to include rich chocolate. These flavours continue to the palate. We tasted with wedges of Edam and Gouda; perfect combination. My tasting group enjoyed sipping it on its own too. It would go very well with roast pork and beef dishes. I opened this wine an hour before drinking and it paid off; wine still continued to evolve pleasantly. A true value wine.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely! Aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry and strawberry jam with hints of mocha and smoke. Full bodied and smooth on the palate, with medium+acidity, lots of ripe fruit, and a bit of oaky smoke on the finish. Enjoy this with marinated flank steak.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The El Goru 2018, from the Bodegas Ego, located in the Jumilla region of Spain, shows aromas of blackberry jam, black raspberry, black olive, oregano, roasted meat, mocha and oak. A full-bodied wine, this Spaniard delivers supple tannins and a fruity finish. Made from Monastrell (Mourvedre), Syrah and Petit Verdo, this lovely blend provides flavors of strawberry, cherry, black pepper, tobacco, vanilla and oak. Enjoy!
