Evolving nicely, Bossi's Castelnuovo fruit overlooking Siena in the southernmost commune of Chianti Classico displays a fine range of old wood spice in a traditional manner, cinnamon and mace, black licorice and faded flowers/pot pourri over a backdrop of red fruits, tart and fresh, slightly dried. The palate is firm and succulent, very savoury and inviting, with great length and overall composure. A fine bottle of wine at the price. Tasted October 2019. Value Rating: ***
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is Chianti on the more traditional side of the spectrum. Light brick in colour, with a herby, tea leaf nose. The flavour is delicate rather than bold with very soft tannins. Dried cherry and delicate pot pourri perfume with a sweet-sour aroma of old fashioned boiled sweets. Very attractive if you like this style, as I did. Not for the wine drinker seeking a block buster. Try it with gorgonzola gnocchi. @wrightwineblog

Natalie's Review

Castello di Bossi C. Berardenga Chianti Classico 2015, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: Loving this medium-plus-bodied Chianti Classico with ripe dark cherry, smoky, toasty oak, dark chocolate and nutty flavours on the palate finishing with vibrant acidity for food. Tannins are velvety on this Sangiovese-based red. Drink: 2019-2024. 994608 14% XD 750 mL  $22.95 Score: 88/100. November 7, 2019 Complete Cheese Pizza Wine  Full Review

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
