Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Notes of fresh dark fruit, black cherry, black berry, and a little red cherry too. Nine months of French oak aging provides pleasant accents of baking spice and smoke. Generous acidity and tannins, good structure, suitable for short to mid-term aging. A pretty nice red blend that will complement roasted pork and chanfana, a dish of goat, white pepper, and paprika.
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An sophisticated blend of Portuguese grapes that impart aromas of blueberries, violets and pine, carrying through to a blueberry and peppery finish. Wonderful acidity, making this wine food versatile, but perfect with beef dishes.
Enjoy now or lay down for another few years.
Tasted November 2019.

Quinta do Portal ‘Destino - Fifth Empire - Red Blend’ 2015
DOC Douro, Portugal $22.95 (646901) 14.0% alcohol
Lifted aromas of cigar smoke and dark, briary berry fruit aromas introduce this opulent red blend of Port grapes; this is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. It captures the palate in a full-bodied, fully textured gusher of ripe, juicy fruit with black berry, dark Bing cherry and ripe mulberry galore. This is smooth as silk from cork pop to final drop delivering ripe juicy fruit on a bed of sweet vanilla and excellent lip-smacking acidity. Finishing lengthy and luxurious, balanced and beautiful, there’s a well-balanced notion of sweet ripe tannin on the finish and aftertaste. What’s not to like? Pour with steak and kidney pie. Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Destino Fifth Empire 2015, a generous and classy wine made in Douro, Portugal, reveals pleasant aromas of sour cherry, black raspberry, mint, bread and nutmeg. Made from 45% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Franca and 25% Touriga National, this wine will please the amateur of new style of grapes. Its full body will charm with its long, fruity finish and a balance that provides numerous food-pairing options. Palate: sour plum, black raspberry, tea, graphite, tree moss and oak. Enjoy.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Portuguese blend opens with toasted caramel nose. Generous dark fruit and cassis on the palate. Respectable finish. Nicely balanced, full-bodied and smooth. Enjoy with prime rib, BBQ ribs or burgers. Good value. Tasted August 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
