Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Villa Maria's Wairau Valley Reserve is a textbook expression of premium Marlboro Sauvignon Blanc. Expressive tropical and exotic fruits, herbal notes, and minerality on the refreshing long finish. Enjoy this beautiful value-priced premium Sauvignon Blanc with grilled pineapple and shrimp skewers, crisp summer salad with tangy dressings and soft cheeses, and spicy Asian cuisine. Tasted May 2020. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

So much on the nose of this lovely Sauvignon blanc. Aromas of fresh cut grass, gooseberry, asparagus, pineapple, a hint of tinned peas note (in a good way) and zesty lime. Compared to many SB I have had, there is a lot more fullness on the body (medium overall), bright acidity, and lots of tropical fruit on the palate. Enjoy with fresh summer vegetable dishes or bright, citrusy seafood.

Natalie's Review

Villa Maria Wairau Valley Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Wairau Valley, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: A zesty, fresh Sauvignon Blanc from the Wairau Valley, fragrant with white florals and lemongrass aromas on the nose with gooseberry, tropical fruit, fresh-cut hay and lime zest flavours on the palate. There is brilliant acidity on this wine for richer seafood dishes. Drink: 2019-2022. 536201 13.50% XD 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 94/100. November 3, 2020 Top Rated White Wine. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
