Sara d'Amato

Fruity and juicy, this lovable, crushable, crunchy, salty, dry and lightly tannic montepulciano is barbecue ready. The peppery finish is delightful conclusion to the abundantly fruity palate. Great value. Tasted July 2019.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark, earthy fruit on the nose and palate. Very smooth with a grippy, medium plus finish. A substantial wine, especially at this price. Pair it with bold, spicy spaghetti or boar ragu. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com

Natalie's Review

Terra d'Aligi Tatone Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2014, Abruzzo D.O.C., Italy: A full-bodied and robust Montepulciano D'abruzzo with dark berry, dark chocolate aromas on the nose. Mouth-filling and silky on the palate with ripe dark cherry, black raspberry, earthy, herb and spicy flavours with vibrant acidity on the palate. The wine was first produced in 1997, by Carlo and Adriano Spinelli. Tatone is the local word for "grandfather," and the name given to the wine because it reflected the strength and authority of their grandfather. The wine aged for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels. Pair with a meat lover's pizza. Drink: 2019-2022. 994616 14% XD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 87/100. January 8, 2020 Best Value Red Wine. Glorious Game Wine  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
