Craig Haynes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2016 vintage is a blend of Trincadeira Preta, Touriga Nacional and Garnacha Tintorera from western Spain’s Extramadura appellation. Showed stunning shades of ruby and purple in my glass. Featured attractive scents of violet, sun dried black berries, figs and potting soil, too. Subdued and delicious dark fruit preserves flavours, velvety tannins defined both the medium bodied palate and the lingering finish. Enjoy.

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Wonderful deep purple colour hints at aroma and flavour! Aroma of cherry, blackberry and roses with chocolate; smells juicy and sweet; dry and balanced and tastes of dark fruit; cherries and blackberries with that lovely floral hint of rose. Good for grilled sausage, old cheddar, sipping solo or charcuterie.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

La Zarcita 2016 is crafted by the Palacio Quemado Estate, located in Meseta, Spain. This wine reveals aromas of dried strawberry, red cherry, zest of ruby red grapefruit, white flower, crushed gravel, pie crust and oak. La Zarcita 2016 is cleverly made of 30% Garnacha Tintorera, 30% Trincadeira, 30% Touriga National and 10% Syrah. Medium-bodied with a tight finish, this blend delivers an impulsive and pungent wine. Palate: tart plum, sour cherry, eucalyptus, clay pot and dark chocolate. Enjoy.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Floral and perfumed nose with plenty of fresh red fruit. Vibrant acidity and tannins with a little lasting grip. Cocoa and minerality join the mix on the palate and finish. A pleasant red well suited to pork chops, ribs, and burgers.
