Natalie's Review

Cerro Añon 2014, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: A full-bodied, mature Spanish red wine with dried fruit and herbs. At peak now. Not fruity at all any at now. Pair with a juicy steak. MINE: This full-bodied Spanish red wine from the 2009 vintage is produced by Bodegas Olarra and is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo grapes. Deep red hue in the glass. OTHER: Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: while the alcohol makes the wine fuller bodied, the power of flavours is lighter than expected. Black cherries and American oak on the palate. OTHER: Part of an impressive range from this large winery, the Cerro Añón Reserva marries Tempranillo with 20% Graciano and Mazuelo and spends 20 months in American and French oak. It's a fresh, well-balanced style with fine tannin management and some sweetness from the oak. Highly drinkable. Drink Date: 20182023. Score - 91 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Rioja Special Report 2018). Drink: 2019-2023. 114306 14% XD 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 89/100. May 12, 2019 Best Beef Wine  Full Review

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
