Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Harvested at an impressive 25.3 brix, this Merlot spent 12 months in French oak, one-third new. Suave, sophisticated, elegant, and powerful, it opens with dark fruit, cocoa, oak, and violet aromas before concentrated black cherry and plum emerge. Shows definite typicity of the variety with soft, refined tannins, balanced acidity, and a full body of 14.5%. This would be amazing alongside pork with a dark berry reduction, or a nice cut of lamb or beef done medium rare with seasonal vegetables.
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

An outstanding Merlot from one of Ontario’s finest wineries, Icellars, located in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Ripe dark fruits, plum, mocha, cacao, herbs and sweet spice on the nose. The palate repeats the aromas in a plush and refreshing style with elegant fine tannins on the finish. The only recommendation for this Merlot would be to offer it in Magnum format, as one bottle isn’t enough! Tasted May 2019. 93+points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rich, big and lovely. A year in French and American barrels. Well balanced with surprisingly smooth tannins. Notes of Chocolate, violets, dark cherry and cassis. Packs a punch with 14.5% alcohol. Pair with meatballs in a smokey BBQ sauce. Tasted at Taste of Ontario April 2019.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Plush, velvety plum, cigar box, vanilla, coffee, cocoa beans, cinnamon, flint minerality - full bodied, soft tannins, warming alcohol. Like a hug for your mouth and soul!
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Taste of Ontario 2019 @ Ottawa: Medium ruby colour, dry with balanced acidity and tannins and high alcohol. The wine spent 12 months in a mixture of 80% French oak and 20% American oak barrels; one third were new and two thirds were older. Definite aromas of dark fruit, including cherry and black currant with a spice note. Dark cherry, black currant, and spice repeated on the palate and were joined by a woody taste.
