Just an absolute joy to drink. It's a rich Barossa that has tons of juiculy fruit to it. It is somewhat more aromatic and fresh than the Lioness ad Lionheart, but maybe some less puissant tannins than both.
Yes, you read right. It is blended with a dash of Riesling. This is a traditional practice in the Northern Rhone to fix colour amd keep the wine bright amd balanced. It is still very mich red. Traditional Rhones thay practice this usually use Viognier, but Viognier is a royal pain to grow (its root name literally means the 'Road to Hell' in Latin). So why not use Riesling, instead? It is also aromatic and a more consistent producer.
This wine has a lovely vibrant ruby-red. Somewhat glass-coating.
An aromatic feast. Plum, blackberry, cassis , smoke apricot, mint, graphit, earth, and slight citrus peel (flavonoly).
The aroams are consostent with the palate. This is not a flabby, big Shiraz. Though it is decently weighty, the wine has freshness and tons of structure; lile most of the wines from this producer.
Pair this wine with some New Zealand lamb done on the barbecue.
