Jane Staples rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Rosso Veronese gives dark berries, vanilla and sweet cherries on the nose, with lots of ripe cherries on a juicy palate. Hints of chocolate and vanilla carry through, too. A good option with pasta in meat sauce, or juicy hamburgers.

Zenato ‘Alanera’ Rosso 2014
IGT Rosso Veronese $19.95 (451724) 13.5% alcohol
Alluring aromas of baking spice, espresso roast and dark berry fruit abound on this merlot/corvina blend. It reveals a tang-laden, spice-infused personality with fruit-filled palate flavours of bramble berry, red cherry and black currant interlaced with licorice and dark, bittersweet chocolate. This is medium bodied and nicely textured and sports a racy, lip-smacking, dry finish, Pour with spaghetti and meatballs, meat lasagna or manicotti Florentine. (Vic Harradine)
Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Just on the ripeness level and power of flavours this wine is an easy recommend for me. However, when you add a couple of things unexpected from Veneto (hint of oak, hint of tannins) it becomes easier. Buy it - love it.

Natalie's Review

Zenato Alanera 2014, Veneto I.G.T., Italy: A robust, juicy Italian red wine that uses the appassimento method to dry grapes before fermentation to concentrate flavour and weight in the finished wine. Aromas of dark tart cherry, smoke and dried herbs. Pair with pasta and tomato sauce. Drink: 2018-2024. 451724 13.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 91/100. August 4, 2018 Top Rated Red Wine. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
