Alana L rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

92% Cabernet Sauvignon - with 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot and 1% Petite Syrah adding depth and complexity - combine in this beautiful wine combining both fruit (red and black fruit with raspberry, ripe cherry, cassis and blackberry) and spice (cinnamon, cardamom) on the nose and palate. It’s polished yet luscious, fresh yet voluptuous, balanced and lively. Floral notes, sweet pipe tobacco (think sweet shisha notes), vanilla layer in with lovely acidity, round body and smooth tannins. Ageing potential but beautiful now. Skin contact (between 21-59 days), oak ageing (20 months, of which 31% on new French oak) and unfiltered bottling add further layers ad texture. Delicious.

Think a medium rare to rare steak with simple sides to let this wine sing.

In Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon is often called the King of Grapes, accounting for more than 50% of the region’s planted acreage grown in all 16 sub regions. To many, Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are almost synonymous.

Tasted as part of the 'California Wine Month: Napa Valley’s King of Grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon’, a panel discussion and tasting to explore the quality, personality, versatility and diversity of the region’s signature grape, bringing together some of its most celebrated winemakers to discuss their insights and experience with the variety; moderated by Master Sommelier and speaker Andrea Robinson and California Wines Canada and featuring panelists Marcus Notaro, Winemaker Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars; Michael Scholz, Winemaker, St. Supery and Priyanka French, Winemaker, Signorello Estates.

Cheers!

Natalie's Review

Raymond Reserve Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Napa Valley, California, United States: The 2015 vintage of the Raymond Reserve Selection is a lively Cabernet Sauvignon from California's Napa Valley with dark chocolate on the nose. Lots of fresh and ripe red fruit, plum and raspberry notes on this 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance in Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc wine grapes. Bottled unfiltered, the wine also spent one year and a half in new French oak. Great cellar wine. A delicious red with ripe red fruit, plum and raspberry notes. Pair with a rare steak.
