I really enjoyed this offering. There's a stewed vegetal note that is present in this wine but it is a good thing and not a detractor. There is black cherry, porcini and glycerin notes that are omnipresent in the wine. There is also a candied flower note hidden deep in the core of this wine. 91 Points.

Bouquet of licorish and herbs. Floral and herbal on the palette with a long finish.

Decanted for some time but this one needs to pair with food. Suggest a great tomato-based pasta dish to compliment this wine.

If you like Barolo and Barbaresco, Piemonte has so much more to show you, from its northern climes.
This wine, from Bramaterra, was grown on dark volcanic porphyry on hillsides drenched with sunlight.
This wine has a lovely garnet colour.
One of the most striking things about the Northern Piemontese wines of Biella (and where they really distinguish themselves) are in the aromatics department.
This example is pretty complex. It is already almost a decade old, but it is still fresh-fresh-fresh.
Tons of florality; violet, cornflower, roses. It os firm and does require decanting (at least a half hour). The fruit open up with fig, red cherry, strawberry, cardamom, clove, truffle, red peppercorns, and red apple.
It is a touch more wild and broad than its neighbour, Lessona, which tends to be more delicate and pretty.
This producer is one of the main driving forces behind the revitalization of the Biella region. Before the Great Depression amd the Phylloxera scare, it was once a thriving and renowned region.
Bramaterra is one of the more important classifications for the wines of Biella. Biellese reds are built woth the same foundation as Langhe to the South and Vercelli to the East. Nebbiolo is the star, with Vespolina, Croatina, and occasionally Uva Rara or Bonarda.
