Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

For those who love Argentine Malbec or big Chilean reds, this is a really interesting offering. Côt is just a synonym for Malbec in the Southwest of France. The reason for the name change is the styling. The intention is a more firm aromatic wine than the generous and fruity Malbecs on the other side of the Andes. It is a nod to Malbec's ancestral home, in Cahors.
It has a dash of 5% Cabernet Franc to really emphasize the aromatic firmness. Look for aromas of chicory, lavender, smoke, currant, plum, cranberry, and blueberry. There are some whisps of menthol and earth too. As it breathes, the fruit become much more forthcoming and interesting. This needs cellar time / at least 30 minutes in a decanter.
Hot, high altitude viticulture in Maipo ensure concentration and ripeness. They cropped low yoelds to ensure quality, as well. This wine was sourced from a single estate called the Liguai estate. It saw 50% new oak and 50% used French oak. The alcohol is not particularly high, but it still maintains full body.
The palate is much better after decanting. It is quite firm upon opening. Lots of dark fruit, dried herb, and pain grille on the finish. Blackberry, plum, coffee, smoke, and prune after a time open. Anise, and some chestnut funkiness. Decent finish.
This is a cool offering from a producer that put the effort in to craft something different than your typical Malbec. This could age for at least 5-7 years. Put it with lamb moussaka or beef sliders. Reviewer's choice.

It takes some marketing courage these days to label your malbec as 'cot', the original name for the variety in its homeland of Cahors in southwest France, thumbing your nose at the consumer awareness of the variety generated by Argentina. And yet the wine is different from malbec across the Andes, enough so to justify a different name, even if it's the marketing high road. Pérez Cruz has crafted a lovely balanced, savoury, fruity-floral version with minimal wood influence, and less monolithic fruit than the mean from Mendoza. Tannins are silky and acids very well measured, resulting in a supple but fresh, mid-weight, balanced wine with high drinkability factor. Tidy stuff. Tasted January 2018. Value Rating: ***
