Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Decant 1.5 - 3 hours. Needs to open up. Medium ruby colour with rich aromas of blackcurrant, strawberry, toasted almonds , salty raspberries, grilled fennel, fresh tarragon and earthy potting soil. Flavours are sublimely vivacious with grilled cherry, blackberry, red pepper, dried bay leaves, cinnamon spiciness and heated jalapeño warmth. High acidity, medium plus tannins and body with a fresh crisp finish. Cigar box notes persisting. This was fruity and refreshing with a touch of salty minerals. Pair with peppered spicy salami, olive tapenade and crostini.

Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Juicy black plums and blackberry aromas as well as cedar, menthol, black tea, autumn leaves, and sous-bois.

On the palate, the tannins are medium and are well integrated with dark fruit flavours as well as espresso, cocoa and notes of wood, and a slightly bitter finish.

Exotic, orange peel and plum/date-flavoured nero d'Avola here, with better freshness, balance and complexity than the mean. I really like the salinity, the savoury herbs, the lavender and thyme, oregano and fennel flavours - a terrific and engaging range. Length and depth are also exceptional at the price, while acids are lean and crisp, alcohol fully in check at 13.5% declared, and tannins fine-grained and well-integrated. This is a wine of impressive character and class. Tasted November 2017. Value Rating: ***

Feudo Montoni Lagnusa Nero D'avola 2014, Sicily D.O.C., Italy: The 2014 vintage was strong for Sicily. This robust Italian red wine is made from the island's classic Nero d'Avola grape from Vigna Lagnusa. Some medicinal notes and black fruit on the nose. Very supple and smooth on the palate. Fleshy ripe plums . Pair with grilled meats. Drink: 2017-2022. 523738 13.50% XD 750 mL  $22.95 Score: 90/100. November 25, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Remarkable Roast Chicken Wine  Full Review
