Cherie Cole rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Impressive and elegant, this Pinot Noir exhibits notes of dark cherry, violet and subtle smokey notes. The grapes were hand picked and aged for 11 months in French oak. Malolactic fermentation lends to the silky tannins. Pair with wild game or salmon. Tasted in September with winemaker Simon Fell.
Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This elegant Pinot Noir offers a beautiful bouquet. It is earthy with aromas of cherry, red berries, and violet, as well as a hint of caramel and cedar. On the palate, it has sour cherry tartness and silky tannins. It is light to medium bodied. This is a very enjoyable wine which would pair nicely with duck. Tasted September 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby colour with really vibrant and involved aromas of cherry, strawberry, dark roasted coffee, smoke, forest floor, moss and mushroom. These awaken in pate with flavours of cherry, strawberry, spice, light pepper, cinnamon, dark roasted coffee and plum. Medium bodied with much ripe red fruit and keen acidity to match. Light tannins offer an inviting and supple smoothness with the equally matched finish, encompassing spice and strawberry at the end. Light, fruity - yet complex. A mosiac of essence and textures. Very well balanced.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Marlborough Pinot Noir was crafted using hand-picked grapes, with the use of hand plunging to extract tannin and colour. Aged in French oak barriques 11mos. This Pinot is perfumed, precise and focused, with clear aromas of ripe cherry, mocha, violet and vanilla. The mouthwatering palate shows dark plum and cherry with subtle oak, in a silky texture with refined tannins and intensely flavourful finish. You can pair this wine confidently with game, red meats, duck, salmon or tuna. Drink from 2016-2020.
Tasted September 2017 with the winemaker, Simon Fells.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby colour. Aromas of ripe black cherries and plums, with a complex oak bouquet of coffee, spices, and toast. The flavours repeat the aromas with added violet notes. This very drinkable Pinot Noir has a long finish of fresh cherries with gentle tannins that feel soft and well-integrated. Score 92. (S.Segard, reviewed Sept. 25, 2017)
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Attractive Pinot Noir from Marlborough (Awatere-Wairau blend) Cherry, floral, roasted beet nose, sour cherry and toast palate. Velvety and well-balanced with juicy acidity. Perfect with duck confit in sour cherry jus.
