Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ripe and complex Cab from South Africa's original wine route, Stellenbosch. This region specializes in Bordelais varietals done on ancient soils at the feet of dramatic mountain ranges.
Bright ruby colour - dark core.
This wine has some pretty interesting aromas. There is some volatile acidity, which gives you some fun rustic balsam and savouriness.
Pure varoetal flavours of cassis, mulberry, blackberry, and dried herbs (sage and rosemary). Good length and integrated woodsy spice. Earthy amd firm at forst, but decanted for a bit made it much more pleasurable.
This would be a great barbecue red alongside some bison burgers or other more exotic meats. It would also be suitable for more formal gatherings; alongside charcuterie as a contemplative wine.

A ripe, polished, full but firm and fresh cabernet here from Stellenbosch, one that neatly captures the South African sun and the firmness and structure of an old world wine philosophy. I like the range of succulent and savoury flavours on offer, the balanced-firm acids and tannins, and the very good length. Lots of character and class here for the money. Tasted July 2017. Value Rating: ***
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark fruit, cassis and spice on the nose. Loads of stewed dark fruit - blackberry, blueberry, black cherry and a solid structure with grippy tannins and a smoky finish. Decanting recommended.

Natalie's Review

Ernie Els Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Stellenbosch W.O., South Africa: Savoury, juicy and loaded with black fruit. Decant 2 hours for maximum pleasure. Smooth and satisfying like a hole in one. Loaded with purple and black plums and attractive dark spice and smoke on the finish. Els had retired from golfing, then returned with a flourish, winning the 2012 British Open. Let's raise a glass to him! Drink: 2016-2019. 278358 14.50% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 91/100. August 19, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Plush Pork Wine  Full Review
