Jon Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Stunning value in this Sicilian IGT vinified with indigenous varietals. Well balanced, integrated, dusty medium-plus tannins, medium plus acidity and medium alcohol. Medium plus body. Red fruit, balsamic, forest floor, volcanic minerality. Pairs well with roasted chicken or roast pork with rosemary sprigs, or rack of lamb. Decanted 2h. Tasted 2014 vintage in July 2017. 93 points. This is a pale, but fragrant, lovely nerello mascalese with lifted strawberry jam, rosemary, lightly meaty and earthy aromas. It is mid-weight, open knit, juicy, sweet and sour with underlying mineral tension. All kinds of herbal character on the palate. Dynamic. The length is excellent. Tasted May 2017
Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A weighty wine with full aromas of berries and leather. Perfect replay on the palate. Finishes with very crisp acidity.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Incredibly aromatic and fruit foward with juicy acidity, dominant earthy and minirality flavours, and a long red cherry-raspberry finish. A gorgeous Sicilian blend of Nerello Mascalese, a light-bodied red offering prominent red berry flavours, and Nocera, a rustic bold red known for its high acidity. Enjoy this delicious red with Harissa braised lamb. Incredible value for quality! Enjoy now, now while the fruit is rich and juicy. Tasted Feb 2018 by @sommsosa

Natalie's Review

Le casematte Peloro 2014, Terre Siciliane I.G.P., Italy: So stunningly delicious! Juicy and mouth-watering, and so on trend -- this is one of those volcanic wines. Aromas and flavours of dark red fruit and spice. Love it! Pair with game meats. This is a robust blend of 70% Nerello Mascalese and 30% Nocera grapes.
