Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A Sardinian Grenache with aromas of blackberry, cherry, earthy mushroom, soft milk chocolate and suede leather. On the palate, red cherry stem, ripe blueberry and a lingering hint of marshmallow and chocolate with touches of earthy compost and wet leaves. Medium plus acidity and body with lively jalapeno spice on the full finish. Well balanced. Pair with braised beef stew and wild boar. - tasted June 2017
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Wow! Great value! Ruby red with a garnet hue. Rich and robust flavour profile with uber complexity at a fantastic price point. Amazing balance between perceived moderate alcohol, medium tannins, medium plus fruit. Declared 14 % ABV. Dry. Great chalky minerality, on a firm backbone of fine tannins. Plum, blackberry, stewed strawberry, aged leather, baking spice. The aromatics on this had me at hello and the palate took it over the top. This wine blew me away with its intensity and an unbelievable price point. Recommend stock up on this with at least a case for those who love old world character and at this price how could you not! This wine is perfect for wedding season and special occasions for those looking for classic old world wine. A true riserva. Easily enjoyable on its own or pair with antipasti, aged cheese platters, roast red meats, Italian tomato based pasta dishes. Tasted the 2012 vintage in April 2017 after decanting 3 hours. 93 points.
