Cabernet Franc lovers, your wine has arrived!
The winemaking team at Pearl Morissette foster a culture of non-conformity that drives the daily passion at Pearl Morissette.
The grapes for this Cabernet Franc are plucked from estate vineyards, and vinified using both new and old oak, imparting both structure and smoothness.
Heady aromas of rose, oak and tobacco, with balanced structure mid-palate, and a lingering spiciness. Perfect with lamb or barbecued dishes.
Tasted at Taste Ontario Ottawa, March 29, 2017.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Pearl Morissette winemaker Francois is a minimalist when it comes to making wine. He prefers to let the wine speak for itself. The grapes for this wine were fermented with whole clusters (60%) in concrete and aged on the lees with no racking for 24 months in a combination of new and old oak. The result - a gorgeous Cabernet Franc with aromas of sweet cherry, tobacco and smoke. A depth of fruit flavours (cranberries and red currant) and a long delicious finish. I have heard you are either a fan or not of this winery - I'm in the "yes" camp!! Tasted March 29, 2017.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
