Outstanding QPR for this Syrah blend f on the Langedoc-Roussilon region. Aromas are rich and vibrant. Plums, dried fruit, vanilla and touches of marshmallow. Baking spice, caramel, chocolate and rich oaky aromas. Flavours are savoury - Blackberry, dark skinned plums and blueberry pie accompany the medium round, velvety body and finish. A suitable pairing for veal cutlets and beef stew. 87 points

This is a good representation of what a Syrah and Mourvedre marriage brings. Typical of the Minervous region, black pepper, earthy mushrooms and eucalyptus aromas carry through to a bold and persistent peppery finish. Present tannins make this a very food friendly pick - pair with a variety of hard cheeses, creamy pastas, or beef dishes.

Good value to be found in this pleasant and simple Minervois. Blackberry, leather, spice and a hint of caramel and pepper. Smooth and easy-drinking. One to keep in mind for a large gathering or splash out tonight with a rack of lamb.

This is a respectable blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carinena from the Minervois Appellation. Spicy with ripe fruit on the nose and palate. Smooth tannins and low acidity. This is an easy drinking wine and at a great price. I like to cook with the wine I drink - I would use this in a Beef Bourguignon and pair it with a glass of the same! Tasted March 13, 2017

Chateau De Gourgazaud 2014, Languedoc, Roussilon, France: Solid value. Notes of woodsmoke, cassis and leather with some black pepper on the nose. Full-bodied and smooth. Layers of black fruit flavour. This wine is a blend of syrah and mouvedre grapes. Drink: 2015-2019. 22384 13.50% XD 750 mL $12.55 Score: 87/100. March 3, 2017 Best Value Red Wine. Full Review
