Neil Phillips rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Classic red fruits; ripe strawberry, raspberry, juicy plum, slight savoury note. Firm tannins for a BV, which held this together nicely.

Not meant perhaps to age this long, surprisingly vibrant.

Tasted June 2020.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Made from 100% Gamay Noir grapes. Garnet red, offering raspberry and blackberry aromas, repeated on the juicy palate with vanilla and touch of oak/mocha. Very enjoyable dry red with food-friendly acidity. Great value.

Natalie's Review

Jean-Michel Duprè Vignes De 1940 Beaujolais-Villages 2014, Beaujolais, Burgundy A.C., France: A little stemmy and herbal, but tasty nonetheless. Sour cherry and loads of acidity on the palate. Pair with roast chicken. OTHER: From vines planted in the Tour Bourdon plot in 1940, this concentrated wine is ripe and rich while still shot through with red-currant acidity. Its tannins come from the low-yielding vines, giving a firm edge. The aftertaste is all about fresher red fruits. Jean-Michel Dupré is a member of Terroirs Originels-17 producers on the hills of Beaujolais and Burgundy's Mâcon. Score - 90 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2015). The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
