Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lovely, smoky, and bright! Aromas of cherry, plum, and smoke. Medium + acidity, vibrant fruit on the palate and a bright finish. Enjoy with ribs or portobello mushroom burgers.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This hidden gem, full-bodied red from the Sandbanks region of Ontario boasts flavours and aromas of raspberry preserves, black cherry, espresso and clove. The name Sleeping Giant comes from a rock formation in Thunder Bay, Ontario that resembles a giant lying on its back. Rustic and native to Ontario. Pair with roast beef or pork tenderloin with berry compote.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

This medium bodied wine was smooth on the palate. The nose started off with a hit of tobacco and a vegetal hint. There was a note of tart raspberry on the palate. I found the finish a bit bitter. Would be a good match for burgers on the grill.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Not many outside Canada make wines from either of these grapes, and it's their loss. This wine is deep purple, dark and smoky, with aromas of plum, blackberry, and raspberry. On the palate, it's juicy, silky, and well balanced with a surprisingly fruit forward flavour of blackberry and raspberry. I'm a fan.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Incredible smoke. Wood go well with BBQ anything.
