I love the smaller bottle, which allows for a perfect 2-glass portion.
J.Lohr is a bit of a staple in my cellar - a perfect wine to crack open any night of the week, especially for those barbecue dinners.
Aromas of black plum, ripe black cherries, vanilla and a hint of eucalyptus, that carry through in flavour, with a smooth finish.
Drink now, or let rest for a few more years.

Faint bouquet at first. Suggest a decant to get some air flowing. I got cherry and vanilla on the nose. The wine is dark with long legs. On my palette, I got sour cherry, plum, with vanilla and spice (but not too much vanilla). The finish was complex, smooth and long.

At $22 for the 750ml, it may not be inexpensive enough to be a Tuesday-wine. I found it to be more of a "I’ve had a tough week and I deserve a $22-bottle" kind of Friday night wine. It also could be considered a "Mmm this is so smooth it tastes like juice and it’s a dangerous" kind of wine.
