Monique Sosa rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Here we have a nice bargain Ripasso that fell just a tad below my expectations. Dominant notes include smoke, game/smoked meat, spice and dried fig notes. The palate, where I expected more body and balance, shows mild notes of cherry and spice. The acidity is present but too moderate for what I expect from a Valpolicella Ripasso. Tannins are also not present enough for what I expect. Enjoy this medium-light bodied red with beef chili. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca

Natalie's Review

Valpantena Torre Del Falasco Valpolicella Ripasso 2014, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: The Italian wine style Ripasso is a lighter version of Amarone also made in the northern Italian region of Veneto. Torre del Falasco offers dark fruit and spice. A spicy, full-bodied relatively smooth Italian red wine with lots of mouth-watering acidity on the palate. Aromas of tart cherry. Pair with a tangy tomato sauce. Drink: 2016-2020. 642421 13.50% D 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 88/100. May 27, 2017 Best Value Red Wine. Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
