Tasted @ the Ch. Ste. Michelle Tasting Room 07/2017 - I had this wine back in Nov. in 2016 and was really impressed by the depth and complexity. At this tasting, I had the luxury to compare this vintage with 01, 12, and 14, and this is for sure the best among all four (93 pts).
Tasted @ LCBO wine bar 11/2016 - This is a collaboration between the Antinori family in Italy and Chateau St. Michelle in Columbia Valley. The overall impression reminds me of Antica (Antinori's wine in Napa). Oak, creme de sis, black fruits on the nose. The palate shows nice fruit, vanilla, mocha that are well-integrated, coating the mouse (a bit too much for my palate). Nice structure at mid palate and long finish. This wine is already drinking well, few more years of aging will help the wine to be more rounded and smoother finish (92 pts).

95/100 with the following review:
Superb! This (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon) red blend from the esteemed Red Mountian appellation in Washington State shows pronounced alluring black fruit, berries and spice aromas. The palate shows a smoothly integrated hit of mouthwatering acidity and ripe tannins. Developing flavours of black plum, cocoa, tobacco leaf, and minty anise dominate the palate. This is such a decadent wine with amazing potential for ageing (cellar through 2020-2023). If drinking now, decant for at least one hour prior to serving. 96/100 with the following review:
A powerful and elegant Cab blend with 88% Cab Sauv, 6% Cab Franc, 4% Merlot and 2% Syrah. Rich, luscious aromatics and concentrated flavours of dark cherry, cassis, herbs and tobacco lead into a very long spicy fruit finish. Smooth like satin in the mouth. This is a superbly crafted wine, not forgotten once tasted. Could cellar up to 2030.
An excellent gift that will be greatly appreciated.

Col Solare 2013, Red Mountain, Washington, United States: A spectacular Washington red wine with an intensity of black fruit flavour that's normally the preserve of Merlot in this state. The fruit is from Red Mountain, the smallest and most prestigious appellation in Washington. The vines are planted at a 40 degree angle to optimize their sunshine exposure. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels that have a tight grain that this Cabernet handles with ease. This winery is a partnership between Tuscany's renowned Marchesi Antinori (Tignanello) and Washington State's Chateau Ste. Michelle. Superb craftsmanship with a long cellar life ahead of it. Get your case now before it doubles in price. Drink: 2017-2030. 20487 14.70% XD 750 mL $99.95 Score: 97/100. December 30, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
