Monique Sosa rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ten years old and still gripping your cheeks! If you are fans of big bold Barolos, this one is worth getting excited about! The aromas show pronounced berry notes, black tea floral notes and baking spice. The palate repeats this alluring ripe berry fruit notes along with vanilla bean, eucalyptus/mint, a touch of graphite, and baking spice. The acidity is well balanced and the grippy finish continues for miles. Be weary of the tannins. This style of wine is highly tannic, so if you are experimenting with this varietal for the first time (or first time in a long time), this wine could seem presumptuous. Even though we're in 2016, you best cellar this baby for another 7-10 years, easy! If drinking now, do decant at least 2 hours prior to serving. Enjoy pairing with a prime rib roasted. Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Barolo from N Italy's Piedmont region shows a nose of red currant with plummy, woodsy notes and dried herbs. The palate repeats, adding nutty flavours. Extra-dry with good acidity.

Beni Di Batasiolo Riserva Barolo 2006, Piedmont D.O.C.G., Italy: A full-bodied, still fairly tannic northern Italian red wine made from the classic Nebbiolo grape. Aromas of black fruit, dried tobacco leaves and dark spice. Pair with risotto truffled dishes. Drink: 2014-2018. 330704 13.50% XD 750 mL  $39.95 Score: 88/100. Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
