Pulled this bottle out on the Civic Holiday (Saturday) for a bbq steak dinner with ET, Hugh, Maureen, and Sarah and Ali.
Not enough for 4 to share! Lovely dark fruity hints and a smooth taste. Acceptable for a Barossa Shiraz.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Shiraz shows a developing bouquet of aromas and flavours including: black plum, ripe field berries, eucalyptus and an dominant mineral note (seemingly out of place). The palate is showing tremendous fruit concentration with a rich off-dry mouthfeel, moderate acidity, mild tannins and a long cocoa, cherry and eucalyptus finish. Overall, I find the dominant mineral note distracting and not something I particularly enjoy in Australian Shiraz. Nevertheless, this wine is quite a bargain and something to enjoy with BBQ feast. Tasted July 2016.

Natalie's Review

St. Hallett Gamekeeper's Shiraz 2014, Barossa, South Australia, Australia: As good as ever: this full-bodied Aussie Shiraz delivers. This popular Australian Shiraz offers terrific taste especially for the price. Ripe and tart blackberry flavours with some black plum and just enough oak. Very consistent producer. Lovely dark cherry notes on the finish. Lip-smacking delicious. The 2014 vintage of the St. Hallet Shiraz is mouth-watering and full-bodied: this robust red cries out for a rare steak! There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
