A textbook, very floral-violet and black/blue fruit flavoured example of malbec from pioneering Mendoza winery Catena. Florality is really the hallmark here, along with enlightened use of oak (limited) and vibrant acids that have integrated well. Good to very good length. Solid, succulent and juicy. Tasted from magnum October 2016. Value Rating: ***
Alastair Strachan reviewed this wine as follows:

Nice wine for the price.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This winemaker is ostensibly the benchmark for Mendoza Malbec. These plots are grown at a significantly high altitude - some are 1,000m above sealevel. For the vines, that ensures better exposure to sunlight and cool nights for aromatics and structure.
Deep, deep, inky purple.
Aromatics are chocolately, with fig, plum, cherry, christmas cake spices, and charcoal.
It is super youthful - lots of verve and freshness. More blue/black berries, macerated cherry, fig jam, chocolate, and some minerality that keeps it alive.
This example of Catena's value gives you a full, balanced wine - brimming with conentrated flavours. There's loads of oak, but it is still in kilter within the overall hefty nature of Malbec.
Pair it with beef or pork sliders, with caramelized onions.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
