Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Montes deftly handled this wine to produce a simple, easy to appreciate red. Sourced from Colchagua (the agglomerated area of northern Rapel and easterly Cachapoal). The red is equal parts Cab Sauv and Malbec; 47% was aged for ten months in new oak.
Deep garnet colour - lipstaining.
Fun aromas of mint, bramble, mocha, tobacco, cherry, and black forest cake.
Flavours are pure and satisfying - chocolate, smokiness, jammy blackberry and cherry.
This area is hot, but also has large swings in night and day temperatures. This provides lifted aromatics you hardly see on an entry level red. Pair it with molasses ribs. There's a 'Montes Twins' white available, as well. It is predominantly Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, with a dash of Viognier in the mix to keep things interesting.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
