91/100 with the following review:
A wonderful deep ruby red Amarone with pronounced aromatics and typicity. Complexity in the glass in aromatics and on the palate. Showing dark chocolate, ripe plum, dried dates, ripe cherry, and fresh cedar plank. Tasted decanted after 3 h. Full bodied, well balanced medium tannins, medium acidity, medium plus fruit. Pair with BBQ chicken, braised ribs, beef tacos or on its own. I have a deep appreciation for appasimento style wines and this is a fine example. @jonsteeves rated 91/100 - tasted June 2016
Terry Jeans rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
Stewed dark fruit, with chocolate, leather, and tobacco. Incredible Amarone that is very typical, but well worth the price.
Colin McKone rated this wine as
93/100 with the following review:
This Amarone displays intense aromas of plum, cassis, tobacco, blackberry, dark chocolate and leather. Flavours of plum, cassis, baking spice and dark chocolate follow through. The acidity and tannins are well balanced in this full bodied wine. It will pair excellently with tomato based pasta dishes.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
This is a good intro to Amarone (Ah-mah-ROH-nee). It is virtually the epitome of what Veneto red grapes can achieve (that, and recciotto). Typical grapes used are Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara, Rondinella. Relatively light and bright grapes that take on much more ruminating characteristics, once dessicated Amarone style.
The colour is a nice deep ruby with bricking at the edge.
It carries 15% alcohol, but manages to hide it. Leather, tar, fig, and blackberry coulis, coffee grounds, violets and charcoal.
The flavours are elegant and with fully ripe tannins. Lots of animal notes, red fruit - stewed and fresh. For an Amarone, it is still really young. Tastes wonderful now, but it will improve definitely.

An Italian beauty! Deep garnet, semi-opaque, to the eyes and on the nose, incredibly complex blackberry, ripe cherry, cedar, cassis, fine cuban cigar, dayton boots, and licorice. To the taste mouth: Full bodied, full bore (15%), medium acidity long sophisticated finish of ripe blackberry and cherry, and cedar. Tannins of velour!
A rhapsody of flavour in your mouth. Would pair will with bison burgers, with blue cheese or venison steak.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Beautiful aromas of raspberry, cherry, dried herbs, with a touch of baking spices and black olive. Much of the aroma carries through to the taste, adding some fine gripy tannin and bright acidity. A perfect wine for Italian meat dishes.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
This Amarone pours with an attractive deep garnet appearance. The nose is pronounced with bursts of baking spice, dried figs/dates, leather, dark chocolate, licorice and plum. The palate is well developed and complex showing tart cherry, dates, dark chocolate and baking spice. This wine is full bodied with luscious acidity ripe tannins and an overall delectable mouthfeel. Drink now up to 2026. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings

Sartori Amarone Della Valpolicella 2011, Veneto D.O.C.G., Italy: Smoky, meaty with bacon sizzle in this full-throttle Italian red wine. this is truly the benchmark for Valpolicella winemaking and uses those ancient methods of concentrating the wine via the drying the grapes and ripasso.
