A luscious medium bodied and dry red from Coteaux Bourguignons. Ruby red and 12.5% ABV. Well balanced fruit, acidity and tannins and integrated alcohol. Tart cherry and ripe pomegranate with savoury notes. Layers of flavour, well structured. Paired well with festive turkey dinner and cranberry. Tasted Jan 2017. Rated 89/100.

Fun wine for a good price. People are familiar with the two main varietals most commonly found in this AOC: Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir. There are others, however. Cesar and Tressot are uncommon, but permitted. Whites can incorporate Aligote and Chardonnay. This one is predominantly Gamay, since the producer is from Beaujolais.
The colour is a pale ruby.
Aromas revolve around sour cherry, ickory, wet stone, cinnamon, and spent tea leaves.
Flavours are vibrant, with plenty of pommegranate, cherry, raspberry, and blackberry. There is some used oak that comes out on the finish.
This is good wine for hot weather. Could even stand a chill, if you absolutely must....

Fragrant aromas abound in this gamay: vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, candy apples, forest floor, and dark cherries. There is a refreshing acidity on the palate and mouthwatering cherry flavours. A nicely balanced, smooth, light-medium body, dry wine. I would pair this with a cheese and charcuterie plate.

An easy drinking Gamay with attractive aromas and flavours. Dark cherry, smoke and chocolate aromas. Mouth watering with edgy acidity and tannins that should smooth out with a year or two. Light-medium body with a medium finish.

Alex: Savory plum and vanilla on the nose, with accents of peach and rhubarb. Tart palate, with more roundness and weight from the oak use. Simple, juicy and succulent. Well-done gamay. 87pts

Priya: I also smell a bit of cinnamon or maybe cardamom here. Dry and drying on the palate although it's not very tannic. Robust I'd say. 85pts

Lovely aromatics with lifted cherries and a touch of game. Crisp but not excessively so. Purity of the Cherry fruit on the palate is enjoyable from start to finish of a long palate.

Medium clear ruby color with clear rim. Juicy red fruit and bing cherry aroma. A subtle tast of cherry chewing gum stick and feint smoke. Medium-plus acidity with medium fruity finish.

With notes of sweet fruit this medium coloured French red has a delicious cherry and vanilla on the tongue. Smooth finish makes this a nice sipping wine that would also pair nicely with chicken or pork dishes.

Bright ruby in the glass, floral, sweet cherry, and candied apple aromas, with a lovely mouthwatering cherry finish. Perfect with a variety of cheeses or on the back patio Sunday afternoon with family and friends.
