Alana L rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful garnet color, decanted 2 hours - good depth and concentration but consensus was that wood notes overpowered the second notes of black fruit. Still a lovely full-bodied smooth classic Italian red wine - would mot necessarily age the 2010 further. Paired well with grilled artisanal Italian sausages.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Brunello is bright garnet with voluptuous aromatics of worn leather, earthy notes, savoury herbs, dark dense cherry core with red fruit. 100% Sangiovese grapes. 15% ABV. With 2 years in wood, this wine has aged gracefully and is elegant on the palate. Complex, well-balanced and integrating nicely. This is a mid price quality wine, perfect for gifting. Ideal window 2016-2025. Pair this wine with rack of lamb, braised beef in red reduction. Recommend buying at least two, as this bottle is evolving nicely. Decant 2h. This is a concentrated, complex, with potential to evolve in glass and in the cellar. Drinking well now. @jonsteeves rated 92/100 @VanWineFest 2016

Natalie's Review

Marchesi de Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Brunello Di Montalcino 2010, Tuscany, D.O.C.G., Italy: Great concentration and depth of flavour on the palate. This blockbuster is in serious need of cellar time. This full-bodied red wine features aromas of blackberry, black plums, smoky oak and tar. It's fairly smooth, though this will improve with aging. Decant for 1-2 hours when you open it. A powerful and classic Italian red wine. Pair with prime rib. Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: pasta in meat sauce, spicy sausages, grilled meats, game. Drink: 2016-2025. 963371 13% XD 1500 mL  $113.95 Score: 93/100. February 9, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Harmonious Hard Cheese Wine  Full Review
