Monique Sosa rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Here we have a robust Spanish gem with deep layers of aromas including black plum, blackberry, cherry, sweet baking spice, vanilla, leather, smoke, and licorice. The notes go and on and constantly changing in the glass. The palate is full bodied and rich with high notes of ripe black plum, cassis, (major) black licorice, all spice, leather and dark chocolate. The tannins are still developing but well balanced with a mouthwatering acidity. Enjoy pairing with a seared bison tenderloin topped with sage-shallots butter. Jon Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is delicious! Aged for over 30 months in French Oak barrels and then aged in bottle for 3 years minimum prior to release to distribution and sale. A Gran Reserva Rioja with Great concentration, structure, well balanced with old world aromatics of cola, cherry, fresh blackberry, savoury herb. Tasted Nov 2016 at 8 years. This wine will age well and is drinkable easily until 2025. Rated 91/100 - bespoketastings.ca
Carola Price rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Clear and bright with a garnet core. Nose of tobacco and baking spice with some blackcurrant and raspberry. Earthy and fruity and so well balanced. Great acidity and tannin. The finish is long with the fruit softening after the tannin dissipates. Great wine with potential to age at least 10 years.
Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This Spanish gem wears a cloak of deep garnet and offers up aromas of black cherry, fine Cuban cigar and vanilla. The structure is a fine balance of fruit, smoke notes with medium to full body, medium acidity and well-integrated velour tannins. A sophisticated offering sure to impress a date and complement a rich meat dish.

Medium red in colour, blueberry and blackberry on the tongue and with a medium acidity in the long finish. Pair with red meats.

Colin McKone rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark purple with plum, blackberry, leather, black pepper and mint aromas. It is full bodied with balanced tannins and acidity with a long blackberry and black pepper finish. Will pair well with red meats.
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Medium garnet, orange flecked colour. Highly elegant, complex nose featuring ripe dark cherry, blackberry, violet, earthy and vanilla notes. Beautiful harmony on the palate, with fresh acidity, medium body, lovely depth of fruit and oak scented flavours through the mid-palate, and fine grained tannins. The oak is well integrated, as is the 14% alcohol.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rich aromas of plum and blueberry, with some vanilla and new leather. Medium bodied with a plush, round mouth-feel and medium acidity. The taste is blueberry an black cherry with some rounded tannins. A very good wine for burgers or roast beef.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

The nose and palate offers up red and black fruit, mainly blueberry, cranberry and strawberry, with some vanilla, spice and earth notes appearing on the palate.
Alex & Priya rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Priya: Bit too lacking in aroma and flavor for me. I'm sure Alex will love but I'll take a pass. 82 pts

Alex: Pleasant strawberry style, with notes of smoke and ham. True to place and representative of tempranillo and more moderately oaked styles. Palate is large-scaled, full body and heavy tannin, yet is a little light on flavor concentration. 85pts
