Beautiful Rioja! Spice, oak, hints of bourbon with a luxurious mouth feel and a persistent spiciness. Love it!
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A classic vintage Rioja (Tempranillo) showing rich dark berries, cedar, vanilla, baking spices, leather, and a touch of dark chocolate. Full bodied, well balanced, with a medium-long dark fruit, cedar, and dusty tannin finish. Tasted October 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Sean O'Regan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby, berry, plum, oak spice and chocolate, tobacco and earth on the nose. Medium bodied and silky with plum, dried cherry, berry and savory spice, chocolate, mineral and herb. Classy and elegant, very approachable now, but should hold for many more years. Pair with a savory beef and mushroom pie.

Jon Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Marques de Caceres yields from Rioja DOC and is produced only in exceptional vintages. The 2009 vintage was tasted in October 2015 at 13.5%. This wine is deep ruby red and offers dried fig, prune, ripe strawberry and plump blackberry on the nose. Aromatics are mirrored on the palate with supple tannins, well integrated red and black fruit, and wonderful smoothness imparted by French oak aging. Ideal pairing with rich and creamy sauced beef or rack of lamb.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A superb representation of a Rioja with complex aromas on the nose - dried blueberry, cherry, blackberry, toast, and cinnamon, made with only the finest ripe fruit. It is silky and smooth on the palate, supple tannins. Lovely pairing with Beef Bourguignon.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A powerful Spanish wine! Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, chewy toffee, cool eucalyptus, and licorice. Palate is equally bold and more with semi-dried fruit, cherry cola, rich molasses, and and ending with a fresh herbal rosemary. I would pair with soy marinated portabellos and a tart onion jam.
Ghislain Lalonde rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Firm, succulent, juicy, genuinely savoury and saline Rioja from the ever-reliable Marqués de Cáceres, this has firmness and cut, mouth-salivating acids and marked minerality. Wood and lees are of course flavour factors, but not dominant. I'd tuck this away for another 3+ years for maximum enjoyment, or hold another decade. Solid stuff. Tasted September 2015.
