An aromatic array of eucalyptus and black fruit with the palate displaying red licorice, blackberry, spice and some mocha. The wine has soft tannins and a smooth lasting finish.

Beautiful deep ruby red……the nose is intriguing, with lots of plum, spice, leather and nutmeg…….On the palate, the tannins are present, yet smooth….delicious! There is a lingering fruit presence, a home run for sure!

Medium ruby red. A subtle nose with spice and dark fruits. Plums and a hint of nutmeg are noteworthy and the medium body provides just enough lift to make this a very enjoyable wine with or without food. Soft tannins and a medium long finish provide a nice balance between acid and tannin levels. Primarily a Sangiovese (85%) wine with the extra fruit notes from Merlot (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
Pair this with a nice mushroom dish or a beet risotto.

A delicious Sangiovese blend with a little Cab Sauv and Merlot, deep ruby red with good viscosity. Aromatic with inviting dark fruit and floral notes, hints of chocolate , leather and baking spices, unfolding into a full-bodied palate that is smooth, well-integrated, velvety and totally satisfying. Wonderful long fruity/floral finish with touch of nutmeg. Would definitely buy this one again.

Ruffino's Lodola Nuova is medium ruby red with roasted beets, red pepper, dried herbs, leather, and a touch of pencil shavings on the nose. The palate is round and very approachable, with dark fruit, plum, and raspberry on the finish. Enjoy this fall and over the winter with hearty dishes. Tasted October 2015. 89 points. Look no further, here is a sumptuous fall/winter easy drinking red. Key aroma characteristics include: cooked red and black berry fruit, vanilla, licorice and a touch of smoke. The flavours follow the nose but with hints of mint. Tannins and acidity are integrated and smooth. This wine is medium + bodied with medium raisony finish. Pair with cacciatore.

The 2011 vintage shows vibrant deep ruby red, 14.0% ABV, blended from 85% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot varietals sourced from an altitude of 270-320m above sea level. Grapes harvested from the Ruffino Loyola Nuova Estate Vineyards in the Montepulciano area located close to the Village of Valiant. Grapes harvested from carefully tended 25-45 year old vines and soil of mixed clay and limestone, experiencing hot summers and little rain with efficient diurnal temperature variation for great acidity and sugar. After fermentation, this wine was briefly held in stainless, followed by 18 months in oak barrels and further refined with bottle aging. On the nose and palate, enjoy the plum, cherry, dark chocolate and baking spices, with a hint of aged leather. This wine is elegant, full bodied, smooth and well balanced, velvety tannins. Long finish with persistence of dark chocolate, cherry and plum. Pairs well with traditional Tuscan Italian fare.

The taste is juicy, with round tannins, and flavours of blackberry , black cherry, and plums. A long finish of plum and black cherry leave you wanting more. Perfect for stews, meaty Italian dishes, or an evening in front of the fire.

Cherry and blackberry with a very aromatic bouquet of green herbs such as eucalyptus, rosemary, and mint. Juicy cranberry-cherry flavor and peppery finish. Definitely a wine that need food... Lamb or caramelized mushrooms would be wonderful.

Deep ruby showing cherry, oak spice, dried herb on the nose which follows through on a medium bodied palate with balanced acidity and drying tannins on a medium finish. Drinking nicely now with protein and should hold over the next 3-5 years.
