Heather Wall rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Love the label! But that's not how we choose the wine, right? ;) This is a big California wine with opaque colour and thick legs showing extraction. Intense black fruit nose. Earthy, woody and herbal notes on the palate. Medium+ acidity and polishing tannins. The finish is long and warm - a combination 14.9% alcohol and warm baking spices. Pair with charred meats. A BIG but Easy drinking wine.
Tasted: August 2015
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Opaque in colour the nose is full of sweet dark berries and a slight green herbal note. The palate is creamy and rich with a sweet baking spice finish. Very tasty wine. Tasted August 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Natalie's Review

The Big Easy Syrah 2012, Santa Barbara County, California, United States: Purple and juicy with a pleasant bite on the finish and lots of acidity through the palate that's balanced with fruit fleshiness for rare meats. Reminds me on a Zinfandel and Cabernet blend. Pair with BBQ anything. Drink: 2013-2018. 83212 14.90% XD 750 mL  $49.95 Score: 90/100. September 5, 2015 Top Rated Red Wine. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
