Matt Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Award winning winery, Featherstone, produces premium small production wines, and their 2010 Onyx is a fantastic example of that. Only 392 cases of this impressive Cab Franc-Merlot blend were produced. It delivers terrific fruit concentration with excellent structure. Dark berries, fig, raisin, plum, cedar, and herbs on the nose. The palate is velvety smooth initially wtih a refreshing finish. The tannins kick-in to remind you that this is a serious wine that can stand-up to some of the richest dishes you can imagine. Osso Buco comes to mind followed by herb and pepper crusted Prime Rib roast. Tasted August 2015. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Featherstone Onyx from Niagara Peninsula, Ont VQA, a Cab Franc/ Merlot blend. Garnet red with dark red fruit and vegetal touches on the nose. The palate gives dark plums, vegetal touches, mocha and baking spice. Dry with dark fruit and mocha on the finish.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
