Paul Burt rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Great nose of mocha, red berries, vanilla and terroir in abundant nuances. Chapoutier really really hit the entry level jackpot when he started in Rousillon years ago. great wine. Drink now - Paul
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

The 2013 vantage of this wine shows violet color with a blue hue. This wine has dense aromatics including dark cherry, BlackBerry, and a slight hint of raspberry. On the palate, I tasted sour cherry, BlackBerry, sage, lavender, spicy black pepper and a hint of anise. Full-bodied, medium plus tannins, chewy mouth feel with a persistence of black pepper, BlackBerry. Medium finish.

This is a beautifully poised, fresh and exuberant young blend of syrah, grenache and carignan. No great depth, but it delivers a lovely youthful floral bloom of lilac/violet with plummy fruit, pepper and a touch of licorice. It's medium weight, rounded then narrows and dries on the slightly herbal, dusty finish. Very good length. Chill lightly and enjoy over the next three years, much as you would a Cotes du Rhone. Tasted April 2015
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoky dark fruit, minerality, some soft spices, and cigar box aromas lead to a very silky mouth-feel and flavours of blackberry and tart cherry. There's a little bit or fine tannin, and a medium tart finish. For me, this is a wine for roast pork.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Dark fruit, savoury spice, licorice, black pepper nose
Dry tannins, full bodied in addition to the above mentioned- leather and smoke

Rack of lamb
Terry Jeans rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Slightly purple, with some almost red licorice aromas and woody notes. Medium-bodied with decent acidity make this great value and perfect for all kinds of food pairings.
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Chapoutier has been producing world-class wines for quite some time and this value-priced gem is a terrific example of the complexity you can get in the South of France. Medium bodied, easy going, a terrific wine to enjoy this summer with BBQ fare, charcuterie plates, or on its on. Tasted April 2015. 88+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Sean O'Regan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Med red, with a slight candied nose, plummy and spice with some violet notes. Red and black fruits on the palate with some toasty notes, medium body with juicy acidity and medium length. Solid wine from a producer known for providing great value. Tasted April, 2015

Natalie's Review

Les Vignes Bila-Haut Chapoutier 2013, CĂ´tes Du Roussillon Villages, Midi A.C., France: Staggeringly great value in this full-bodied French red wine from the Rhone Valley that's a blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah grapes. This AC-designated wine features brooding black fruit, dark spices and intrigue. What a great price for such quality, especially from such an iconic winemaker as Chapoutier. Try it tonight with pepperoni pizza or meat lasagna. Drink: 2014-2018. 168716 14% D 750 mL  $15.45 Score: 91/100. April 15, 2015 Best Value Red Wine. Glorious Game Wine  Full Review
