Martin Geleynse reviewed this wine as follows:

The 2014 Vintage in Napa (and for all of California) was the third in a string of great years, and for many, it brought an earlier than usual harvest. The Allomi vineyard is situated in the particularly warm confines of the Pope Valley in Napa. The area is noted for providing consistently warm temperatures that allow Cabernet to ripen steadily and evenly, acquiring great complexity and depth of flavour. In the drought conditions of 2014, this was even more advantageous and will be reflected in this wine through the layered ripe fruit and cassis tones, as well as its plush and supple texture. Always a popular wine, in an outstanding vintage such as this one, this will be stellar.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Rustic, robust, and fruity. Berry notes are prominent with hints of fresh savoury herb (sage and tomato leaf) notes peeking in between. The palate shows enticing notes of raspberry, blackberry, anise and mocha. This is a full-bodied red with chewy young tannins and long cocoa finish. Enjoy pairing with braised lamb. Heather Wall rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautiful experience from start to finish. This full-bodied Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is inky in the glass. Intense concentration of aromas and flavours of ripe dark berries, plum, baking spices, leather and a long caramel/toffee finish.Tannins are smoothing; acidity a bright medium+. I would experience this wine with finer cuts of beef or sip on it's own and let that toffee and caramel finish linger. Enjoy over the next 5+ years.

Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The Hess Allomi vineyary in the heart of Napa Valley, produces incredible Cab Sauv. Their 2012 vintage is a great example of that. Incredible structure, the fruit, tannin, and acidity are all in check, beautifully! A fantastic wine to enjoy with prime beef cuts. 93 points. Tasted March 2015. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
